Self-driving cars could lead distracted drivers to text, read or watch TV while driving. But autonomous automobiles raise concerns about distracted drivers of another kind, namely those that have car sex. The head of the Canadian Automated Vehicles Centre of Excellence (CAVCOE), Barrie Kirk, thinks self-driving cars could cause an erection (no pun intended) in incidents of car sex behind the wheel. And you thought teens texting while driving was your biggest road worry!  Self-driving cars cause erection in car sex, give distracted drivers new twist | Examiner.com

Lenten sacrifice, almsgiving, prayer and fasting: Live simply and at peace

The Catholic penitential season of Lent starts early in 2016, on Ash Wednesday, Feb. 10. Through acts of prayer, fasting, meditation, a Catholic seeks to imitate Christ's suffering and passion. Those acts give back, too, in physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health. They're the deepest Christian expression, but they aren't exclusively Christian. Most major religions have similar elements. No human could really imitate the divine. But it shouldn't prevent trying. Here's how a Catholic family can observe Lenten sacrifice from a world religions perspective.  Lenten sacrifice, almsgiving, prayer and fasting: Live simply and at peace | Examiner.com

Christmas overindulgence causes selfish entitlement, depression, relationship problems

Christmas is caring and sharing, but Black Friday is bloody noses and busted lips. Each year, shoppers battle each other for prized goods and Black Friday 2015 was no different, reported Fox 59 on Nov. 30. Why do people fight over Christmas presents in the season of goodwill toward men? Because Christmas shopping has nothing to do with an attitude of gratitude and everything to do with an attitude of entitlement. Christmas shows people at their most self-centered and miserable. Black Friday and Christmas overindulgence causes greedy selfish entitlement and ingratitude. But maybe it's a question of which came first, the selfish entitlement or holiday indulgence? Perhaps it doesn't matter because the results are the same--indulgence and entitlement both lead to resentment, relationship problems, depression, even suicide.   Black Friday, Christmas overindulgence causes selfish entitlement, depression | Examiner.com
